Blog Post #1: Career & Self-Development

To begin this post, I want to reflect not just on my internship duties but on the personal growth I’ve experienced this week, growth that directly ties into the NACE Career Readiness competency of Career & Self-Development . Although my official internship with Performance Course began the week of June 9th, I had been preparing myself far in advance. From navigating a new routine to adapting to early mornings and high expectations, this first week has been both challenging and rewarding. Each morning starts with a 5:45 a.m. staff meeting , where we align on responsibilities and programming for the day. From setting up QR code sheets and stations to ensuring athletes are hydrated and ready, the pace is fast and the expectations are high. I’ve found that being organized and proactive are essential, not only to succeed in this role but to grow from it.
